And than something went wrong...

We have a truly blessed country, a purely God gifted piece of land; we were a blessed nation too. We sacrificed too much to be called a nation and even though we didn't do very well to establish ourselves in our relatively good years as a progressing country but we were holding up our respect in the world very well in the past.

Up until 15 or 18 years back - our elders were holding on to the values of respect, honesty and love perfectly, however they forget one very important act. They forgot transferring those valued lessons to their coming generations. For some unknown reasons they hold back from becoming a positive inspiration to their kids or grand kids. Maybe they thought the kids will pick those manners all by their own - big mistake.

That generation grew up good but without those valuable training, without the care for others, without the inspiration to do well. Today that generation is in charge of country and unable to deliver those values and manners to their new generation simply because they never learn those lessons either. In result the kids of our time today are more disconnected from basic value of this country, our religion and in some cases even disconnected from value and respect of humanity and being human.

The thin line between right and wrong seems to be invisible to them. They are young, passionate, strong, educated but unfortunately thanks to the previous generation, this generation is more confused, more lost and too much distracted, too much self-destructive.

Can we really fix this all on our own?
Things around here in Pakistan is too dark not only on surface but in depths too. We are falling because we have nothing to hold on to. Trust and faith to each others is hardly found. Our minds are trapped by doubts and hates for others. We are becoming experts of blaming others for things that we did wrong.

Those of us who can see the facts through open and understanding mindset should come forward, even if silently but they need to set examples to become inspiration. They need to find ways and methods to communicate with this lost generation to the level that these young and lost people can understand easily and act upon them.

Harsh and direct approach can easily confuse these untrained minds and the positive energy of hot blooded passion can change into negativity, hate and destructive in an instant. The differences between contrasts have been increased way too much and it needs to be address very carefully and very gently.

This all is not going to be easy, nor an over night change. We all need to take one step at a time and one person a time by one act of kindness at a time. And we need to start it from as soon as right now.
